Monday 2 March 2015

Monday, Phew.

Today dawned very bright and then the sky darkened and down came the snow, lots of big fat flakes. By the time I had decided to have a day sewing the sun was out again and all was bright and sunny.

So, fast forward a few hours, 2 loads of washing out on the whirligig, nets down and soaking in the sink, polish, dusters, vacuum plugged in and general elbow grease applied. Upstairs is gleaming, downstairs is waiting for another day. Not a stitch sewed and none will be, I have some knitting calling for attention and need to get those pins clicking.

Fat chance, I had just typed the last sentence when the phone rang. I had to dash off, then it was time to walk and feed Ben, then dinner was needed, clear the kitchen, wash up blah blah, and finally a shower. Now I am back 3 hours later, I will not be knitting this evening.

An equally busy day tomorrow, I am off out with a friend to get the rest of the compost that I need. Then there are seeds to set and some overdue tidying round the edges of the garden, it has been very windy of late and all sorts of detritus has ended up here.

Now I have tea to drink and the last bit of the Sewing Bee to watch.

  2. Life just seems to get in front of all the fun things. Very windy here in Cornwall at the moment. But at least the sun is trying to shine.

  5. No snow here (though it felt cold enough), but you're that little bit higher. I hope you are soon completely over your cold. You have made some lovely things recently and the speed you work at! No ideas of starting off seeds here yet though I should think about getting runners started mid-month in the Polytunnel.

  7. What a busy day, some people seem to think if you are at home all day you don't have any thing to do, I find I am busy all the time.

    1. I keep on the go as much as I can, when I do stop and sit still I feel uneasy.

  8. It was so cold and blustery here too. I managed a bit of food shopping but was glad to get back. I have a large card order to make but the day just slipped away :(

    1. I envy those who can make cards, me and glue is not a good combination.

    1. The wind seems to come straight from Siberia at the moment. It certainly whooshes down the mountain and reaches the parts.

  10. I try to 'ignore' chores sometimes, but it doesn't work. I get stressed out knowing there's work to be done, and then I can't concentrate on any crafting !
I don't think men are wired like that are they ?

    1. I stopped trying to figure men out a long time ago. Sometimes I can ignore chores but most times they niggle away at me until I just do them.

  11. If only there were more hours in the day. We've had everything here today, sunshine, rain, hail, sleet, it really can't make up its mind.

    1. We have had a week of it, this morning it was raining, trying to snow with wind howling around, now it is sunny and the wind has dropped away.

  12. I used to hate *Net Curtain Cleaning Day* when my Mum would be soaking, scrubbing, rubbing, ironing all day!! I vowed never to have nets!! I'm ignoring the horrid weather and am going to knit a bit! X

    1. I hate net curtains but my windows are huge and I do not like being " on show" so I just put up with them.
