Pardon, what did you say?

I went off to have my ear syringed this morning, and guess what, I still can not hear, I have to go back next week for some more water torture. In the meantime I have to put Olive Oil in it every day. Lovely!

Apart from that all is good here, the sun continues to shine down, the buds are opening almost as I watch them and Ben is happily sunbathing, he follows the sun round the garden.
My second lined jacket is finished, and I like it as much, if not more, than the butterfly one.

Because it took so much fabric I did not pattern match the back seam but I did get an invisible zip inserted. I used the genuine Janome foot, and hey, it does not fit my MC 8200, but it does fit my little portable.

These buds on the apple trees are opening fast.

I have a few Anemones, at last.

While clearing a rough section I found some Rhubarb, it is now in a sheltered spot between greenhouse and fence. None this year but a little next, fingers crossed.

Just a few of my bargain bulbs from Wilkinsons. I knew that they would be late this year, but will be fine next. I picked most of the Narcissi for the house they smell divine.

Scraps, let there always be scraps.

These come from Hilary at Cross Hands, she kindly  throws her trimmings into a bag and drops them off on her way home.

These come from a charm cutting afternoon, there are more but
there are only so many pictures of scraps that even I want to see.

I have been outside pootling, sitting and reading, wandering with Ben and generally relaxing today. I did make 2 Bara Brith loaves yesterday, 1 to keep, 1 to give. I read a few different recipes and then made my own up. I tested it on an elderly Welshman, who pronounced it "just like mamgu made" praise indeed. His family is visiting this afternoon and he will serve it sliced thinly and spread with butter.
Ben has had a bath and dried off while strolling around the village.
It must be time for tea, I have nearly written a Novella.

I hope that you are all getting some of this glorious weather.

  6. Another lovely outfit, Pam, it's fab looking fabric. Sorry your syringing didn't do the job first time :( Being deaf is a horrible feeling and olive oil seems to make it worse before it gets better. Thanks for the wonderful Spring photo's.

    1. Thank you, I have an idea for a dress and trousers and top but they will have to wait. I have more gardening to do and I really must dig the vacuum cleaner out.

  7. Nice stitching there - I could see that outfit dressed up with hat, shoes, bag for a summer wedding.
I agree with your comment 'let there always be scraps' no matter how short of space I am, I can always make room for more scraps - so if anyone in Shropshire wants to drop there scraps off to me ............... ?

    1. I am fairly certain that there are no functions coming up this year, just as well as I look a dork in a hat.

    1. It translates as Speckled Bread, I make a version raised with yeast but have seen it made with a rubbed in cake mix too.
