Colour me happy.

Another greyish, drizzly morning. Do I care, not a jot.

I have colour in my life, I make sure of that.

The wreath for me is done, all the flowers and leaves are pinned in place. I want to have a little look through my sparkly box and add some little beads or buttons to some of the flowers. A job for this afternoon.

This is my stock of started greens. I do have a very light and a very dark tucked away, but will use these up before getting them out.
I want to make a little stack of leaves, just in case I need some for another wreath.

My pot of small balls and scraps, it makes me happy to delve in here and see what is hiding at the bottom.

The started balls, hardly used, are together. I only want to use these when I need a colour that is not in the small pot.

Some of the unwrapped balls, all of these are DK, the Aran and speciality yarns are under the sofa along with the darker colours. The little mark in the middle of the cream is a shadow, I went into full panic when I spotted it in the photo.

These are the leaves and flowers left over, I started to pack them tightly but changed my mind from "more is best" to "less is more".

And my late Christmas pressy, isn't she cute?

I have a pump and bell as well. I just need to dig a lock and chain out of the glory hole, oh and some decent weather. There are a few cycle tracks and several roads that hardly see a car from one day to the next close by. I do not envisage cycling to Pontardawe as the road is not good, but the road to Ammanford is fine. So is the road to Brynamman but it is uphill most of the way. Worth it though as then the Black Mountain opens up to be enjoyed.
I will have to take it steady as it is over 2 years since I was last on 2 wheels.

These are my bargains from a pop in to Tesco on Wednesday afternoon. I bought more than one of each but did not empty the shelves. The soft cheese is destined to become a stir in pasta sauce with some spinach, and maybe some purple sprouting broccoli both from the garden.
The baby corn is open frozen and then packed into a box, great for stir fries and soup.

Ben is fully recovered and is making "Walk time noises" at me.

Enjoy your weekend, wherever you may be.

    1. I have gone back to the beginning of your blog, and am enjoying playing catch up. I would be happy to live in a log cabin. I am glad to make you smile, I did smile myself at your lovely bloomers.

  2. The wreath looks beautiful Pam and I love your new bike. I used to bike everywhere but the local roads have become quite dangerous now and I won't risk it any more. Too much traffic that doesn't obey the speed limits. I'm afraid our country lane has become a bit of a rat run.

    1. Our road is busy at peak times but heading West the roads are wider and there are lots of quiet side roads.

    1. Before I moved to Wales I used to cycle regularly, I only stopped as my cycle was very elderly and needed replacing. I did not want to get another just in case I ended up in an area that was too hilly.

    1. I was reading a blog earlier and the writer has almost 300 balls of yarn. I have serious yarn envy. I have just started another wreath, not for me this time.

    1. I want to look for a wicker basket for my bike, an old one with a little character, then I can yarn bomb it.

  6. Gorgeous wreath. Good luck on the bike. I'm thinking of getting one later in the month for my birthday. Mine's thirteen years old so I think it's time for an upgrade!

    1. I am really happy with it, I had been chuntering on about one since the beginning of December. I wanted an old fashioned step through, not a chunky clunky mountain bike or a drop handlebar racer. And now I have one.

  8. Gorgeous wreath - just the thing for spring! Love your new bike too - you should get a basket big enough for Ben to ride in - bet he'd like it! I wish I could crochet but it looks so complicated.

    1. I have been saying that Ben would love the basket and I am looking for a wicker one, I would have to make a quilted liner to keep the wind off him though. Try, look on you tube for a tutorial, it is not complicated at all just very addictive.

  9. Your Christmas pressie is fabulous, I've always wanted a bike with a basket on the front. I'm not sure I'd be able to ride one though, it's years since I've been on two wheels.

    1. I have started to cook lamb, carrot and rice for Ben, the tinned stuff was not filling him up and 3 tins a day was a step too far.

  12. Hello, accidentally unfollowed you when I had a clear up. I was just searching for some wool and it occurred to me I had not read any posts from you for ages. I realise why now. Your bike is lovely. X
