Black Sunday.

I am distraught, my iron has stopped working. Now most days that would be cause for a celebration but.....as you all know I am making a quilt and I NEED MY IRON.... badly.
I am hopeful that it can be repaired, it is the retracting feet mechanism that has stopped working.
I am now off to Tesco for a replacement, I am not too worried as it is good to have a spare of essential items. I have a spare kettle as that is a vital bit of kit. Tea made from water boiled in a saucepan just does not cut it for me.

Anywho, before I rush off I just wanted to share my fabric from Button up and Stitch with you.

Ordered on the 12th and it arrived yesterday, 2 day delivery is a win win in my book.

This is Tea and Sympathy-Garden Party and I ordered 3 metres. I see a dress and some patchwork coming out of this.

This one is Robert Kaufman-Spot On in Pond, a delicate aqua. I have a low volume quilt planned and this will be the sashing.

Now I am off shopping.

  5. My fingers are crossed. I do not mind buying a new one as that has done stirling work for about 5 years, most days for about 6 hours. What I will snarl over is the import duty, It could not happen before Fran went to New York.

  6. How can you say my craft fills you with envy, when you make the most amazing quilts, I would struggle to make one mediocre one, that's if I ever managed to finish one as huge as you make.

  7. I still long to cross stitch and embroider, I have to knuckle down and clear the time to get to grips with it. I also want to knit socks but using 4 of those little pointy pins fills me with dread. I need to pull my big girls knickers up, so to speak.

  10. Lovely fabric!
My iron is probably twenty years old, or more!
Still going probably to only sparse use!

    1. I wear out irons at a dreadful rate, most quilters do. They do not like being left on for hours at a time.
