Yesterday was knit and natter afternoon, it was a lovely way to recover from my eye test and the eye watering cost of new specs. It also helped to sweeten the news that I have cataracts on both eyes, the right one is further developed. These are not the milky looking sort but ones that will give a sepia tint to everything that I look at.
I am, of course, talking of a wool shop. Debs Wool Shop to be precise. A wondrous place, brimming full of yarny deliciousness. It is an easy place to find, smack bang in the high street of Llandeilo and very near to both the car park (£1 for 4 hours) and the ice cream shop.
No clicking of ruby shoes together required. No chanting necessary, a satnav system may help those from further afield though.
The left front window display.
The right front.
Through the door and look to your right.
Then to your left.
Straight ahead. Swoon slightly and spot the rainbow of buttons.
Cross stitch and tapestry kits.
Well, a change is as good as a rest.
Hand knitted samples to stroke.
Even more yarn, another sample and some of Deb's own cross stitch projects. If you look closely you will see the tea and coffee corner. And of course a nice squishy sofa.
Deb had a mini bus full of yarny girls descend upon her the other day. Great fun was had by all and she tells me that if anyone plans a group visit, a phone call the day before would mean that tea and coffee ( and maybe bikkies) would be on hand. How good can it get.
Although there was lots of nattering happening there was lots of knitting and crocheting as well. My sleeves are just about done and the fronts will be started tonight. I still have to decide on round neck or the deep vee from the waistcoat.
Ben is lapping up the warm weather, but even he has to retreat to a cool spot for a rest.
Complete with his favourite toy, the bumblebee.
That's all from me for today, I have some washing on the whirlygig that needs bringing in to be ironed and or folded. Some pots to check and some roses to smell.
PS I am not receiving any monetary or woolie inducements for this post. I just like to share the joy with everyone. Plus the prices are so reasonable that a discount is not needed.
