I have had to water the garden twice and will need to do all the pots tonight. Nice.
I have been busy knitting and sewing, just more of my WIPs for knitting. I like to have a few things on different size needles to give my hands a break.
The sewing has been going down a storm, I have had fun playing with different fabric combinations. Plus a little bit of swapping pattern sizes around to use up some of the pieces that I had cut already. Mostly left overs from other projects, too big to be called scraps.
A couple of baby quilts, mainly more boyish colours. The second one still needs the binding slip stitched down.
Both are backed with this pretty birdhouse fabric, a very economical buy from Fabric Warehouse.
A couple of large shopping bags, quilted and lined with some Bonnie & Camille fabric, long stored and needing to be used.
Some drawstring project bags, lined with various fabrics and fully reversible.
These two need their drawstrings putting in.
I thoroughly enjoyed sewing away and have some more things cut out and ready to sew. I have a rather large stash of fabric, some of which has been with me for 7 years or so. It is high time that I used it, languishing in a cupboard is no place for lovely fabrics.
I am wrangling the garden into shape slowly, raised beds have been topped up and a second crop put in, weeding happens as and when I am pottering about. Brambles from next door are being cut back and put through the chipper, they make ideal mulch for the paths round the green houses and shed.
Knit and natter today, I am looking forward to it as usual. The forecast is for a hot afternoon so I may just pop into the ice cream shop. I will be going into Flying Geese to pick up some fabric, they only had it in flannel last week but will have it in cotton today. I also want to look for a couple of neutrals to make the drawstrings from, a dark and a light. I have been using my stash of ribbons so far, all left over from old projects, and do not want to buy any more. Making it myself is far more cost effective, any money that I can save from my crafting budget will go towards fabric and yarn.
On that note it is time to check the washing machine, 3rd (and final) load this morning. Oh, and put the kettle on of course.
