This morning my solicitor informed me that my buyer was not able to raise the funds to complete. She was, allegedly, short by £10,000 I did not let him finish and just said NO I will not drop my price. Two hours later she had raised another £5000, I still said NO. Finally she has come up with the agreed amount so the move is still on, I have had confirmation that the buyers money is now safely in the hands of my solicitor, the only way that I would proceed and transferred the deposit to the letting agents. It took s few frantic calls to get this back on and to get the movers back in sync. I think that I have a few thousand more grey hairs and a cluster of frown lines.
Once I get to Wales I will breathe a deep sigh of relief and dive into a vat of strong black tea.
I finished the third Mandala but am too wound up to do any crafting for a little while.
I am off to get dinner on the go and walk Ben.
TTFN Pam
Keep calm and put the kettle on, I should take my own advice, its is stressful being in the hands of others I know just what you are going through, keep thinking postive and go and do some crochet. :-)
ReplyDeleteI do not bend easily and I certainly do not break.
DeleteOh Pam I'm so proud of you holding firm like that, it would make your knees wobble a bit that's for sure. Your nearly there, hang on xx
ReplyDeleteI will spend today packing the last things and getting all the boxes stacked ready for the removal peeps. They are loading Sunday late afternoon/early evening so that we can get unloaded in Wales by midday Monday.
DeleteWell done Pam for not giving way, cheeky mare!! I can understand how you are feeling , you know what we are going through just now. I need to get my finger out and get the money in the bank for a removal, when it comes, but just cannot work up any enthusiasm. I am seriously thinking of selling my Janome 12000 and getting just a simple sewing machine. I have not used the embroidery side for ages. I also have a lot of stuff that goes with the machine, stabilser threads etc I could shed as well as boxes of squares etc for my left over quilting fabric.
ReplyDeleteIf you really must sell let me know, I still have not had time to go look for a decent quilting/embroidery machine. I do not bend in a breeze like that, I grew up in North Norfolk.
DeleteHoping all runs smoothly for you.
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum
xx
I have organised all that I can, I am on the home straight now.
DeleteWell done for sticking to your guns. Obviously a last minute ploy to try and get you to drop the price. Hope all goes through okay now and you are soon safely tucked away in your new home in Wales.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I was half expecting something to happen, I am such a cynic, I laughed down the phone.
DeleteOh Pam how awful. I'm so glad you go it sorted & good on you for standing so firm.
ReplyDeleteI could not give into such a blatant attempt to drop the price, I had no intention of caving in.
DeleteBoy, some people will try all the tricks in the book. I suppose it works for some people. She soon found out that you are not to be messed with. Good for you. Hopefully everything will go according to plan now. I feel so bad for 'Sweet Blondie Blue Eyes'. What a predicament after the stress of a big move and thinking they had found a forever place. Hope everything works out doe them too.
ReplyDeleteThere is always somebody with no scruples on the horizon, all my neighbours know about this, she will not be getting a warm reception. All my wrought iron curtain poles are coming down and the cheapest wooden ones available are going up in their place. The hardware shop sells broom handles very cheap and they are just the right size.
DeleteGood for you! It is a stressful enough time without people playing games.
ReplyDeleteThat is so annoying, good for you for not caving in. Our house is on the market and we've just had our time wasted by a man who it turned out got a mortgage deal sorted for our house and then decided to buy a cheaper one and pocket the difference !!!! What a timewaster
ReplyDeleteTwiggy
House moving is so stressful without people trying it on. Good on you for holding out.
ReplyDeleteHope your move goes without any more hicups.
Rosezeeta.
Having read all this ,we are having to become temporary landlords for my mums bungalow which we exchanged contract on the 16th May with completion on 23rd my mum died in November so its an emotional sale . The chain if 4 came to a grinding halt on completion day by man no 1 , everyone but our buyers were staying in the Leeds area so unpacked their vans and stayed at home but our poor buyers were sat on the bungalow drive as they have moved 70 miles from Leeds waiting for the okay everythings gone through , so we have let them in as tenants ,the lady was understandab,y beside herself crying , who wouldnt be and we were assured it would be sorted yesterday ,and guess what we are still waiting , its not so bad for us but for the 3 victims in the middle it must be terrible ,we will be looking at breach if contract all the way down the line if Mr X. Doesnt sort things out sorry should have said 2 victims not 3 . Moving is almost guarenteed to raise ones blood pressure
