It was on their Monday Special Buys and for £14.99 worth a try. Boy oh boy it does a great job. I have used it twice now and my shoulders, back and neck feel so good.
The dark beige is not pretty but I can live with that, I would love one in Cerise.
I had to sit around and wait for a couple of hours yesterday, in Neath. I did a quickstep round Morrisons , see the recipe blog, and had a little walk round the town. Then I parked myself in the car with my crochet.
The yellow squares will be finished today and I have to decide what colour next. I also need to decide what to do about the big squares, use one colour or traditional style with a different colour for each round. More decisions.
I am stuck in the house today, there is a delivery coming. No nothing lush for me, but a money saver for Ben. His special shampoo is very pricey so I did an online search and found it for just over half the Vet's price and the ear cleaner to boot and free delivery for a £40 spend. Win Win.
I still have bulbs to get into 4 troughs, it is touch and go whether I have enough compost. It is shopping day tomorrow so I can get them in and then if I run out top them up when I get back.
Nothing else spring to mind so I am off to put the kettle on.
TTFN Pam
That looks great, what a pity you have to be plugged in though, imagine how cosy you would feel wearing that under a coat when you are outside in sub-zero temperatures ?
ReplyDeleteI do not think that I have an extension lead long enough, shame.
Deletecould you not make a pretty cover for it, just drape a shawl over the top and be a proper granny :-)
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, I did think of that and tried it with a silky scarf but it got in the way of my knitting pins.
Deleteoh Pam I want one of those, instead of chilly hunched shoulders and a frown I would have a calm face and a smile! love love love!
ReplyDeletebet its worth every penny!
best d xxxxxxx
It is the best thing that I have bought in a long time, almost as good as my Grace Frame.
DeleteIf it does the job, who cares what it looks like?
ReplyDeleteI don't really care, but it is the only beige garment that I have, it is obviously targeted at the elderly and ought to be available in brighter colours.
DeleteOh, I must have reached 'a certain age' because that looks wonderful. Like getting a warm hug. X
ReplyDeleteOh it is, so cosy I love it.
DeleteI am a Granny and therefore it certainly appeals.
ReplyDeleteI love it but I do like colour, I dislike the assumption that older people wear dull colours.
DeleteThank you for posting about the heated shoulder pad, I shall look in my local Lidl to see if I can get one for my mum and dad as they both suffer with aches and pains in that region. You've also just reminded me to check online to see if I can get Archie's flea tables any cheaper. The vet used to prescribe Frontline but you needed a prescription to buy it online and the vet wouldn't give one, how bad is that? They now prescribe a tablet, I haven't looked in to exactly what it is but I shall be looking again online to see if I can get it as it's so much cheaper than buying off the vet. I think it's really bad though that the vet won't give a prescription, I rang round a few vets and none of them would.
ReplyDeleteMost local chemists sell Frontline if you ask and slightly cheaper than at a vets. Also try Vetvits (healthspan.co.uk) online for vetflea, their equivalent, that contains the same chemicals as Frontline and is a lot cheaper with free delivery. No prescriptions needed in either case. I used Vetflea on my Labrador for many years and it worked very well. The old lady is sadly no longer with me but I also used their glucosamine tablets for her towards the end which helped her a lot. My vet recommended the company many years ago as the cheapest way of treating her. I don't think many practises do that now. He was truly a vet in it to care for animals rather than make money.
DeleteI use chewy blocks for Ben one for fleas and ticks and one for worming, it is easier for me and works well. I tried frontline when I first had him and he used to crawl along the sofa trying to wipe it off.
DeleteIt was Frontline Combo which he used and as far as I can see, that isn't available without a prescription, only Frontline is. As I said, he doesn't use that now so I'm hoping that I have better luck tracking down the new tablet online. He's due to be flea'd and wormed next week so I shall make sure I know exactly what he's being prescribed so that I can do a bit of online research. Isn't it great when you hear of vets actually looking after the animals rather than being in it for the money.
DeleteWell, I just read your post and immediately rushed down to Lidl despite the fact that it said the offer was over when I looked online. I wouldn't normally have gone for anything like this, I always think they're gimmicky but at half price and with your recommendation I was happy to take a chance.
ReplyDeleteWell I am sitting here typing all cuddled up in my shoulder warmer and they had a nice, cream coloured one which matches my Goldie and he is very interested in it. I must admit I'm really enjoying it at the moment. I have a hot water bottle in my lower back as well. Well I am a granny so I don't really care what I look like!
Thanks Pam. Here's to pain relief - I'll drink to that!
Glad to help, I do not really care what colour it is, I am just happy that it works.
DeleteI hope the shoulder warmer thing works well for you! You can always make it a prettier cover when you are up to it! xx
ReplyDeleteI may make a couple of cotton covers that attach with velcro, Ben has taken to sitting beside me with his head on my shoulder, he likes the warmth as much as I do.
DeleteI have one of those shoulder heating pads and they are the greatest thing since ice cream. 8-). I have a bad shoulder and neck and the heating pad makes them both feel wonderful. I put it on, lay back on the futon and watch my binge shows. Glad you like it.
