Like most of the western side of the country I am sick of the rain.
I want to get out into the garden.
I want to walk Ben without wearing waterproofs.
I want to hang my washing out every load.
I want to have the windows wide open to smell the fresh air.
I want to hear silence, not the percussion of water on glass.
On the other hand,
I opened the door this morning to see a buzzard flying low over the garden, amazing.
I see Red Kites nearly every day, flying quite low.
Ben does not want to stop and inspect every corner, post, bush because there are no smells left.
I do not have to was the car.
Ditto the windows and doors.
I still long for DRY DAY, I really really want o get my new bike out.
In the meantime I have started another wreath, photos tomorrow, this one will be going to the Ty Hafan charity shop in Neath along with some other things that I have made.
I also have 3 bags full of clothing and bed linen that I have not worn or used since I moved.
There were 3 hours of dry sunny weather this morning, Ben and I made the most of it, then we had rain, hail and thunder, lovely.
TTFN Pam
PS. popped to Tesco this afternoon and licked up a few amazing bargains. Sweet Potato and Butternut squash 10p a pack, soup anyone? Bean casserole 15p a pack. Stir fry beef strips 45p for 500 gm. Mature Cheddar £3. from £15. I spent £6 and got over £40 of food.
We've had a fair bit of rain and wind....especially wind....here too, although clearly not as much as you or friends in Cornwall. It was gloriously sunny today right up until early afternoon. An upside of the dampness here is the almost daily rainbows we get over the fields at the back of the house. How lovely to see red kites so often...we have a resident pair of sparrowhawks and several buzzards, but no kites.
ReplyDeleteI used to see sparrowhawks in Tydd, and rainbows. Mostly the mountains block the light so rainbows are faded but still lovely.
DeleteI know just how you feel, we were going to go for a walk this afternoon, but rain stopped play, Great bargains xx
ReplyDeleteI am just glad that I got a good walk in this morning, it was bitterly cold though.
DeleteWhat a haul! Bravo! I too am pigging sick of the gloomy weather. It's blown a gale and was bright for a few hours but it was Arctic blasts, no point pegging out because the rain soon came.
ReplyDeleteReally cold here this morning, we had a couple of hailstorms. Once the rain came it brought warmer air down with it.
DeleteWith my three hours of sunshine I photographed a load of stuff to put on Ebay as it's been far too dark and dingy to take any for ages. Hopefully next week I shall be a Millionaire!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that you do well.
Deleteo u know the feeling all too well :( I'm desperate to put my washing out too, and I have a bike that I haven't even been on : ( xx
ReplyDeleteI keep looking at my bike longingly, it should get a bit better by Wednesday.
DeleteWe get very little rain here - but we did get 12" of snow last week - pretty much closed down the town!
ReplyDeleteI envy you your grocery bargains! We have only one grocery here in town, and while they run 'weekly specials' there are never any deeply discounted products. I believe they donate them to Manna Pantry, which is a food bank, and helps the poorer families in town. It's 26 miles to the nearest town from here, and they also only have one grocery, selling the exact same product lines. To find a bigger market it's 75 miles. So the savings on car expense reduces the higher grocery prices, at least that's what I tell myself!
Hope you have dryer days soon.
We have had about 5 completely dry days since November 3rd, time the tide turned. I would not waste fuel on a 26 mile trip never mind 75 on the off chance of some bargains.
DeleteIt hasn't stopped raining here for days! Longing for some sunshine.
ReplyDeleteLiz
We all seem to be feeling the same.
DeleteI too long for the better weather! Well done on your bargains!
ReplyDeleteMarch is on the way, maybe the sun will shine then.
DeleteIt's been dreadful here all day and I thought it was the tail of the storm. I found out on the news that the storm hasn't even hit us yet! Imogen is on the way.
ReplyDeleteWe had thunder during the night and again today, goodness knows what she will bring us.
DeleteWow what a good haul from Tesco! We've had rain, wind and sleet all day today in the Midlands. Fed up with trying to keep the floor dry! Roll on spring.
ReplyDeletePoor Ben has to have a rub down after every walk, he has short legs. I mop the floor last thing at night and that is it.
DeleteI put spare unused bedding aside to go to CS. then turned them out to use duvet cover to make curtains and sheet for lining. think I may hang on to other duvet cover. not good for house clearing. well done on cheap shop.
ReplyDeleteI still have some in the fabric stash, I can not keep it all, not enough storage.
DeleteUgh....it's thrashing it down here again. Very windy and very cold. I'm sick of the noise too.
ReplyDeleteI have three packs of 2p and one pack of 5p celery in the fridge which I am going to use to make veg hash and soup tomorrow after we get back from the solicitors.....providing the road hasn't flooded to stop us getting there.
-x-
celery soup, haven't made it for ages. I like to have veg hash tucked away in the freezer, cuts the prep time in half.
DeleteI know just how you feel. By February I've had enough and am ready for the spring. Not long now though. Your day sounds a bit like mine. xx
ReplyDeleteIts been a terrible couple of days here in the south west lots of flooding and terrible high winds and mud thick mud its horrible I cant wait for dry weather roll on the spring :-) dee
ReplyDeleteI am longing for a dry day too!! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab haul. I like picking up the stir fry packs for 10p - I find they cook very well straight from the freezer. A dry day would be good - there was sunshine here yesterday morning so all the windows were open it was blissful x
ReplyDeleteI suppose there are pro's and cons to any kind of weather, but we don't appreciate one kind until we have too much of the other! 😄☔️🌤
ReplyDeleteOther than the captive raptor next door, I haven't seen many birds (well I have to include the seagulls which are rats with wings) since our trees got cut.
ReplyDeleteOur rain is staying way north. Today at 1230 it's a balmy 29C. Sounds like you did well at the grocery.
