I took this at around 9.30 this morning, it was cold and windy but lovely and bright.
This was taken about 30 minutes ago and it is snowing a blizzard.
On a better note, my Amaryllis has decided that it will flower after all.
Just look how much my tulips have opened out, I am glad that I picked this colour, it is just as good as I thought it would be.
I decided not to venture out to Swansea to look at sewing machines, the biting cold wind put me off walking round so I got on the phone. My Janome 1600P will be here on Monday, along with the correct feet for FMQ on the Grace Frame. I had a long chat with "a man who knows" and am happy with my choice. I did discuss a new machine that is about to be released, it is a big upgrade, and a big price increase, but I need to walk before I try to run in the Olympics. Possibly next year, or much later this year. It is good to wait a while before buying a new release, let the teething troubles get sorted first.I have some fabric to unpack and photograph, and the bracelet of course. The cat popped in this morning but Ben was not impressed so it will stay a visitor only. I will not risk a confrontation, but am thinking of looking for a way of providing some sort of shelter in the garden for her.
I will be back tomorrow with the next instalment of the " Quilt frame saga" when you get bored let me know.
TTFN Pam
snow hasnt settled here either just passed through although that wind is bitter. I wonder if your sewing machine is coming from the same shop that I had mine serviced cant remember his name now.
ReplyDeleteYes it is, I just could not face trekking round Swansea in the cold wind.
DeleteCongratulations!! Another new member for your quilting circle!! It looks like You, Yourself and Herself should have a great time being creative together. Can't wait til Monday! How excitement!
ReplyDeleteThe tension gathers. Pun intended, he he
DeleteYou will like the Janome1600P , it is a real workhorse and very heavy so be careful as you lift on to your trolley. My friend and I share one and a New English Quilter Frame. Unfortunately we never seem to have time to really practise and have had problems with tension. I think the Little Grace is a better frame as you drive it from the front whereas ours drives from the back of the machine and is a little harder to see. Good Luck with it and I will be following your journey with interest. Happy Quilting !
ReplyDeleteI have a bigger Janome that lives in the cabinet but will be careful. I had a long chat when deciding to buy and was told to set the bobbin tension first, then the top. I nearly always use the same weight of thread when I quilt so once set it will not be changed. I think the road will be a bit bendy and possibly rocky for a little while, so hold on to your hat.
