( Deerhound Lurchers from the look of them).
There was also this who was fascinated by the sight of Ben's water dish.
We wandered around, up and down the meandering lanes, there were lots of these,
Enough of these to keep us walking,
Quite a bit of casual planting
Some more formal stretches, I know which I prefer.
The Old that has been left old,
And the old that has been rejuvenated. The old Lifeboat House is now a fully refurbished home. I saw that happen, step by step, on Grand Designs in 2011.
Then there was the old and new together,
An old tradition in a sparkling new setting, there is a plethora of chip shops, cafes, restaurants etc in Tenby but this one caught my eye. It has the top rating of 5 for food hygiene, and it is obvious why, the whole place is squeaky clean, even the staff were shiny. It also helped that there were tables outside with people eating and their food looked fantastic. I left full to the top with a decent helping of fish for Ben's dinner ( no batter, in the interest of his digestion I ate it. Too much salt and vinegar).
On the way to get my maple syrup we stopped in Saundersfoot, that can wait till tomorrow, I am drooping now and need to get Ben out for his last walk.
TTFN Pam
We went to Saundersfoot and Tenby on our recent holiday. Tenby was heaving, I dread to think what it's like at the height of summer.
ReplyDeleteTuesday was a warmish day but not very sunny, the place was packed. I have been in the high season and you can hardly walk along.
DeleteWhat an interesting looking place, I love that step with the flowers and the old buildings being reclaimed by nature, I will have to add to a list of places to visit :-)
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of pretty doorsteps around, and plenty of bits and pieces of walls. The streets are narrow and winding, full of little shops, restaurants and arty places with a fair sprinkling of Charity Shops. Worth a visit but I would not want to stay more than a day.
DeleteYou are heroic, Pam. So kind to Ben by eating the batter. (My late dog wouldn't have got the batter but he wouldn't have had much fish, either)
ReplyDeleteI took one for the greater good. he he. I never usually eat like that at mid day, all I had for dinner was a small bowl of salad. I did enjoy my day.
DeleteWe had a couple of lovely holidays in Tenby when the (now in their twenties) boys were young. Would love to go back one day.
ReplyDeleteJoy x x
It is a lovely little place and there are lots of places within a short drive to visit.
DeleteYou've made me yearn for a Tenby day out now! I will wait for a sunny day though. It's a lovely little place. So sorry your deli is shut now. Have you tried Aardvark in Camarthen? They have a really good selection of health foods and goodies.
ReplyDeleteThe chippy you went in is where we had supper last time we were down there. We opted for the small portion (which was more than enough) but some folk were having the large one - dear God, I don't know where they put it all. It was a bucketful of food on a gigantic plate.
I have it on my radar and intend to pay a visit to the Llanarthne one as well. I do not know how anyone could eat the big serving. I only ate half my plateful and still did not have room for an ice cream.
DeleteThanks Tenby still looks lovely, I remember the boat house on Grand Designs.
ReplyDeleteIt is an impressive building but I would not want it myself.
