Playing in the Rain.

Well not really in the rain, in the sewing room watching the rain swirl through the garden.

I finished the HST,s and they decided to become a bag,

It is tall enough for bottles of whatever and wide enough to take 2 , I thought about a divider but wanted a fast finish.

This print was a stray fat quarter from the bag that I "found" a while ago in the sewing room. I am slowly working my way through it.

I sorted through some more of my charms and pulled a piece of red solid and made a 16 of these little boots. I may make some to turn into some bunting but these will go on my tree and some will go to Cardigan.

The rain has hammered down all day and is still coming down now. Ben has been out in it 3 times and has not liked it one little bit.

I spent the morning blitzing the sewing room, not much was removed but an awful lot was returned to its rightful place. Tomorrow is shopping day and once that chore is behind me I have a pile of zips and fabric sorted out to make some little pouches.
Fran loves these and has some colour coded for her various cosmetics and toiletries.
No crochet tonight, my hands ache a little so I am resting AKA lazing around doing lots of nothing.

I hope to start wrapping gifts at the weekend, I just need to dig out the paper and sellotape, I know where they are. I bought loads of both in the January sales 3 years ago and there will be enough for next year.

Time for a cuppa before I shoe horn Ben off the sofa and into the garden.

    1. Thank you, I like bags and enjoy making them. I can romp through a pile of scraps in an afternoons bag making.

  2. The weather has certainly been dreadful but, like you, I have found it a good opportunity to complete some tasks. I have also made some little stockings for my tree. I love your bags. You are very talented. I wouldn't know where to start. X

    1. If this rain keeps on I will soon sew though all my stash. I may make enough stockings for an Advent Calender, I have just cut a few out slightly bigger to try.

  3. The rain has eased here today, even the sun shone a few times, I have been blitzing through the things for the craft fair on Saturday, your little boots are great and reminded me I have a bundle cut out left over from a workshop :-)

    1. As I was cutting them out I wondered if there was a die to make them. If there is it will just be enough to send me out to buy a machine. Glad I got to jog your memory.

  5. Pam, I really like the bags and the booties that you made. Whew..reading about your busy day makes me want to sit down, have a cup of tea, and relax. Thank you for sharing the great homemade ideas.

    1. Just popped over to have a look see and I am sure that you do not have much time to sit and relax. I will be back later for a longer visit.

  6. I love the bags and the little boots. I saw something similar, can't remember where, the little boots were used as an advent calendar. They were hung on the stair railing and had little treats in them for every day.

    1. I am dithering over making enough for a calendar but there are so many things that I want to try making.

  7. When I finally was able to get home and settle down yesterday I was putting huge tacking stitches in a hexie runner from last year which needs to be finished. It givbes me a break from the crochet gloves, which I have decided to start over again with a smaller crochet hook as the pattern makes up into far too big a size with a 4.5 hook.

A long back-easing walk is on the cards for today, as soon as it is light enough.

    1. I may just get a walk later as it seems to have stopped raining. My crochet squares are still ongoing, they are in a drawer and when it is full I will lay them out and pray there is enough.

  8. The bags are wonderful and I loved the miniature stockings, beautiful fabric. I am hoping to start the wrapping next week, whilst I have plenty of wrapping paper and I have made the tags I am sadly lacking sellotape.

    1. I am that person who buys it all in the January sales, only a couple of years ago I had a Blonde moment and did it twice, now I have enough left for 2 more years.

  9. Your little stockings are sweet, and very much like some I made recently for my craft stall; although for some reason, I didn't use Christmas fabric even though I have got some!

    1. They are cute and so easy to make, lots of scraps used up, but many more to go.
