Decision Made and Action Taken
I went to look at sewing machines today and bought a Janome Memory Craft Horizon 8200QC and a Horn Quilters Delight Mk 2 cabinet.
The machine will be here by the weekend and the cabinet will be around 28 days. That means that I have a little time to get my fabric sorted and all the other things organised. I also picked up a spool stand so that I can use a big spool of thread when I am sewing large projects.
As soon as they are here I will be taking reams of photo's.
I went to look at a house in Neath this afternoon, I am not happy. The Estate Agents website said that the house would go to auction if it was not sold prior to the auction date. The agent who was showing the house said, oh no the house is going to auction and no offers are being taken unless they are over the speculative value, which is more than £10,000 over the Zoopla valuation. Hmmm, I challenged her on the actual website details but she was clueless. I may go to the auction but feel that the house needs too much remedial work. 2 down pipes had been removed and rain water has been pouring down 2 walls and the damage is evident inside, 2 walls from bedroom ceiling to ground level need stripping back and replastering at the very least. Not to worry there are lots of houses out there for sale.
Reasons to be happy.
1. Glorious sunshine most of the day.
2. Walking with Ben roaming round my feet.
3. My new machine, on its way.
4. A quick stir fry for dinner was delicious.
5. I managed to buy some Michael Miller quilting cotton for just over £5 a metre.
I hope to spend some time in the garden tomorrow after gallivanting round south Wales all day today.
The new pills seem to be working well, I hope it lasts.
Francesca is coming back for the weekend in 2 weeks time, she will train to Neath and I will collect her there, it is only 25 minutes away at the most and you can park outside the station.
I am off to put the kettle on for tea.

Just read yesterday's post and put a comment on it, then found today's! Glad to see you bought the Quilter's Delight. You will be delighted and the delivery man is very helpful.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to add this. If you are contemplating a new chair Don't buy one with arms. They are too close to the pull out support arm on the left of the table and keep getting caught on it. I already had my chair and it is quite new so I will have to poke up with it unfortunately.
DeleteI decided to wait until I have the unit set up before looking for a chair, my old one had arms but I got rid of that before I moved.
DeleteIts the Quilters Delight I have got fab unit I love it, I also have the 4 drawn unit to go with it, my delivery man was also very helpful, such a polite company to deal with.
ReplyDeleteI shall look forward to lots of yummy photos :-)
I bought it complete with the chest of drawers, I will wait until I have it before looking for a chair. Now all I have to do is find storage for the fabric stash.
ReplyDeleteIn response to blog dated 31st May. (sorry know it is off post just wanted you to have this information) My dog was also on a high quality dried food and suffered terrible skin red itchy weeping and after many tests we were also told that we would have to have her on medication for the rest of her life. After doing much research on a natural raw meat diet I decided to go down this route took a while but with perseverance we got her on a raw meat diet. Not only did her skin complaint clear up but her overall health improved. Research Barf diet and lots of information on Landywoods. Hope this helps anything is worth a try other than chemic Good luck
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with the way Ben is responding to the simple treatment that I will wait for the final results before I change anything. Thank you for the pointers I will be checking them out later.
DeleteSorry to hear about your sciatica flare up, but how lovely for you to get a new sewing machine and special unit for it. I have a Janome, a more basic one but I love it. Enjoy playing with your new toy. Hope you're having less pain today. Love, Helen x
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed my pain level is dropping and will continue to do so. I am going to unpack my machine on Monday after Ben has been for quick check up at the vets. I am off to Pontardawe Saturday afternoon to the festival, there is a craft section and Ben can socialise as well as me.
DeleteHope the new pills do the trick, Pam, awful to think of you in pain.
ReplyDeleteIn the middle of selling my mum's house, the money will go towards keeping her in her Residential Care Home (We kissed goodbye to any hopes of the kids getting any of the money my poor old dad was so proud to be able to pass on to them) I have to say the estate agents are lliving up to their reputation - and I did choose carefully. Conversations contradict original conversations, I just KNOW they are hand in glove with the guys from the buy to let scene, I have had some really stupid offers this week - you'd never think they are supposed to be acting on MY behalf! And I took their advice re valuation. So set your sights low as regards any future interaction with estate agents - watch them every step of the way! And good luck. I hope you find something which fits the bill - in all senses of the word!! Lxx
My new neighbours are trying to sell and have had some stupid comments, one man offered £20,000 less than asking price and told them that he was looking at 4 houses and would buy whichever dropped the price the most. There are 2 houses in Cwmgors that I am going to look at next week, even though I love the mountains I have to remember that I am 62 and ought to be near shops, doctors, public transport and so on. I would buy this house but the owner paid twice the current value and will not sell.
