The Sweater saga finishes.

Here it is, Fran,s sweater all assembled and now folded up waiting for her next visit. I am pleased with it and happy that I have enough yarn left to make her a hat. The collar sits wide but is not at all floppy, probably because of the high wool content. I may knit the pattern again for both of us in the purple and yellow yarns.. A sweater and a hat for £12 is a real bargain.

I resumed knitting the dk socks last night, the first is finished and the second is cast on and halfway down the cuff. Using the orange yarn for the heels might mean that I get both socks from 100 grams.

Today is glorious and sunny, I have 2 window boxes down and ready to plant up with primulas. There are also some seed packets out ready, I just need to get the trays filled and soaked.

I am going to take Ben down to the park in Garnant later and see how the wild garlic is progressing, fingers crossed there will be some leaves already.

Dinner tonight is a butternut squash and coconut curry, it is the recipe from Sunday Brunch, I will be using squash instead of sweet potato. I did have the potatoes but baked them for last night. I filled them with onion, celery and sweetcorn in a garlicky sauce and served with a chopped salad, yumilicious.

Now I am off to do a quick garden walk before lunch, there are lots of bulbs flowering and some need marking so they can be moved later in the year.

    1. It was a very tasty meal, I did use too much passata but had the extra sauce for the next day.

  4. Love the sweater, especially the neckline. I often read on british blogs that they find wild garlic on their walks and like to take some of the leaves home with them. Why don't people grow it in their gardens, that way it is available to them all the time. Just curious!

    1. I do have some wild garlic in my garden but it has not shown it's face yet. The plants flourish in wet, shady conditions, I was going to the park anyway so decided to look on the chance that there might be some.

    1. I do knit and sew for people but would not want to make a business of it, I like to knit for pleasure.

  6. I love the neck on the sweater.
The sweet potatoes sound very nice. I am not a huge lover of baked potatoes although I do cook them for my pair. Having said that we have tried baked sweet potatoes and they are delicious so I will have to try doing them with something like the veg in garlic sauce-x-

    1. I use sweet potatoes at least every week, I microwave them till soft and scoop the flesh out for shepherds pie topping and anywhere that mashed potatoes can go.
