Back on track.

Fingers crossed.
I had a systems update and it turned the blasted laptop doolally, even allowing for operator stupidity.

I am slowly restoring as much as possible, thank goodness for you tube on the telly.

It took me almost 30 minutes to persuade the printer that it was installed and to tell the laptop that I did want to use the printer installed and not some strange named creature from another dimension.

For a while I was thinking that if I lobbed it across the room and let Herbie have a game it might teach it to behave.

I managed to conjure up some common (HUH very rare) sense and just watch a couple of how to videos and follow along.
Almost like painting by numbers.

I will be back tomorrow once I have cooled down a few hundred degrees and regained some calm.

  1. Good luck Pam! There is nothing more frustrating for me than technology...I'll send you a bucket of snow you can stick your head in to cool you down! :)

  2. I'm hearing you, 4 year old tablet is sloooow and keeps telling me it's full (16gb) and sometimes is totally unresponsive.
It seems to have similar aerodynamics as a frizbee.....the day will come when I test this theory.

  3. Those updates always seem to do a number on a computer. Glad that you are getting things up and running once again.

    God bless.

  4. I have the same frustrations so I have avoided the current update but will have to give in eventually.

  5. Hi Pam
Hope all is better with the laptop, you made me smile yesterday - put it down instead of put it away. I am so guilty just put anywhere then I have to clean the cupboard, drawer out having done it several times. I have more time to do things properly but maybe it is the call of the needles and wool that makes you rush. The cowl is so pretty I am knitting an Aran jumper for my daughter, can't wait to finish and knit some tiny clothes for some Sylvanian critters. A present for my great grandaughter. Alfie still enjoys Happy Hounds and has a new friend there Elvis.
    Have a good weekend
