It was Monday so I had to fill the washing machine, strip the bed, vacuum, dust and polish like a domestic goddess on high octane caffeine.
My duster and I have been in places that I did not know were there.
There is worse to come.
I actually found myself shaking the duster out of the window!!
The upstairs is done and dusted. Whoops, make that dusted, polished, bleached and almost steam cleaned.
There are TWO loads of washing on the whirlymajig and I have made a celebratory and restorative cuppa before I start downstairs. All by 10.21 am, I would pat myself on the back if I could reach.
I know that there are thousands of peeps who do this on a daily basis. I am not one of them. I am not a slattern, but I do not feel the need to clean relentlessly. As long as the bathroom and kitchen get done properly every day I am happy to ignore the odd dust bunny or five, duck a stray cobweb or three and have a blitz once a week.
I have been a bit slap dash over the last few weeks, what with sciatica, ear problems and the siren call of knitting, crochet and sewing, things are not as they should be.
Today will address that and tomorrow it is knit and natter, AND there will (fingers crossed) be NEW yarn to squidge, cwtch and buy.
I have just realised that I did not take a pic of the grey sneezy scarf, it should have been a shawl but it was one cobweb too many. I will do that for tomorrow.
The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things. In this house, today, it is vacuum, duster and polish. I will leave the sealing wax and string to those who like it.
TTFN Pam
PS I will be knitting tonight, and possibly sewing.
It's the stairs for me. The dusting can wait and the bathroom floor but the stairs must always be hoovered before the house feels clean. I'm glad your house is squeaky clean for you, you can have lots of fun crafting. x
ReplyDeleteI did manage some knitting and some overdue hand sewing.
DeleteWe've both got the Granny bug today then Pam....lol.
ReplyDeleteAiring cupboard...tick, wardrobe...tick. Just about to make quiches and then back upstairs when hubby gets back to do one of the bedrooms-x-
By the way....thanks for the tip of grease round the base of the pots-x-
I feel so happy today that there is next to nothing to do.
DeleteSit down and have a cuppa and some cake you deserve it xx
ReplyDeleteI had the cuppa but not cake, I did a little hand sewing instead.
DeleteDeep clean in the kitchen for me.
ReplyDeleteJulie xxxxx
I do like my kitchen squeaky clean.
DeletePhew, you make me feel tired just reading that! I tend to find that crafting takes over for a while (or reading avidly) then I notice the dust and have a real blitz. Luckily, I have no stairs :)
ReplyDeleteThe stairs are the only reason that my crafting is not spread through every room. I do have vanilla knitting for when I wake early though.
DeleteImagine if you got so clever you could knit with your hands and sew with your feet at the same time?!! I've been dyeing old favourites to give them a new lease of life. Well worth the few £ indeed! I've sorted my laundry and hoovered but I ain't dusting today. I'll do it tomorrow! You'll be asleep tonight as soon as your head hits the pillow!
ReplyDeleteYou got to have a dream, but that would not be mine. I would end up sewing my toes together while knitting a complicated pattern. I did fall into bed and was gone.
DeleteHad the day to myself so deep cleaned the living room. Sitting and enjoying it now-cross stitch or perhaps a book later!
ReplyDeleteCross stitch is still on my to do list, it is behind a sewing and knitting queue though.
DeleteThe toilet/bathroom is cleaned daily and the kitchen the rest is on a as needed basis.
ReplyDeleteThe same for me, one of my friends has to clean her windows almost daily, even she does not understand it.
