The bathroom cabinet may get replaced but I am not rushing to do so, I admit that it had become a bit of a dumping ground.
I baked bread today and was surprised at the difference in the loaf sizes.
Then I went out to get my eggs from the next village,
This is what I found, 6 large and 6 huge, all for £2.00
On the way back I popped into the greengrocers to get some limes, they were 4 for £1.
She gave me these for £1 as they were a bit small.
Size does matter, the wholemeal loaf is bigger than usual, 6 of my eggs are almost twice the size of the others and small limes gave me 3 extra.
As for speed, my laptop and blogger is v e r y s l o o o o w
so I am off for a cup of tea.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

What are you planning for the limes, I had a sudden memory of the taste of Roses lime marmalade - might have to try some again.
ReplyDeleteI plan on a coconut and lime cake and as I have 7 I might make a small batch of lime curd.
DeleteShame about your carpets but its good that the insurance will cough up. At least when you put your cottage on the market they will be lovely and new. Mmmm Roses Lime marmalade..yum! My d i l made me some lime curd a couple of weeks ago, its so nice I could just get a spoon in the jar! What will you make with yours?
ReplyDeleteI saw a recipe for lime and coconut cake and I may make some curd, it is lovely in or on anything.
DeleteLime curd and lime marmalade... How delicious, but then I love lime anything..especially green jelly babies!
ReplyDeleteooooh Jelly babies yeurkk, Green spangles were my favourite and Opal Fruits. Imlove lime curd and marmalade as long as it is home made.
DeleteLime and coconut cake sounds delicious. You could also have a go at Key Lime Pie as it uses a lot of limes, that's DD3's BF's favourite. Pity about the carpets but have fun choosing new ones. We're still trying to sort out the case of mistaken identity with Admiral. It definitely was not our car smashing into another one in a car park in High Wickham!
DeleteI like key Lime Pie but I won't be able to eat it all and the cake will slice and freeze. I hope you get sorted out with the Insurers, these things can be stretched out to the 'nth degree.I don't expect to see new carpets for a couple of weeks at the very earliest. I have 2 very big wardrobes in the room and goodness knows how the fitters will manage, I certainly can not move them. I have informed the insurers of this.
ReplyDeleteI am having a carpet insurance issue too!! Though not spilt paint! It's going to be a nightmare, the HG is going to have to decorate Against. His. Will and all the furniture will have to be shifted ! I am not looking forward to the next few weeks!
ReplyDeleteI refuse to buckle under the strain, I will deal with each issue as it arises. I may use it as a good reason to get rid of the wardrobes, they are massive and an all too handy dumping ground.
