Ben and Herbie rushed to my aid, as did the SO. I had to sit for moment and catch my breath then got to the sofa. Tea was supplied and after a little while I felt much better.
I had a rootle through the fabric stash yesterday and have pulled lots of pinks, some blue with pink floral and may add a little soft green to the mix. I have almost decided on the pattern, I just need to have a look at my white on white. If there is enough I plan on the Tumbling Charm Quilt from Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Co. I have made this a few times and it is a simple pattern that showcases the prints.
I aim on getting all the fabric pressed today and cut out, much of it is already 5" charm squares so it should not take too long. I have plenty of wadding and possibly enough of a suitable backing fabric.
I want this to be a fairly quick project as I am not sure of the operation timeline.
I have a small shopping list so will factor that in sometime over the next couple of days.
We have a dry and sunny morning so far and there will be pegging out happening very soon.
There is a black hole in the house that has sucked up all my tea towels, not all but I seem to have a much smaller pile than I did. I have added them to the list but may have to look online. I only like the smooth woven cotton and most of the shops seem to have terry toweling or those lumpy bumpy woven things that shrink alarmingly on the first wash. I could travel into Swansea but have far better things to do with my time. I am going into Neath next week so will have a look in Wilko and Morrisons. There is a Magic and Sparkle but they only have clothes and food.
'Nuff of this, I have lots to do and the dogs are looking at me, it is time for a walk.
TTFN Pam
I hope you mend soon, it's so easy to slip on the stairs. Love your fabrics, can't wait to see your creation, you make great quilts.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marlene, I will be careful in future. It is the first time that I have ever fell down the stairs and I hope that it is the last.
DeleteOuch....that sounds painful.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric for your latest quilt is just beautiful and I can't wait to see a pic when it's finished.
Hugs-x-
Painful? Oh yes, very. I will be putting some pics up in stages as I sew.
DeleteOoh, really sorry to hear about your fall. Look after yourself.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will.
DeleteOh gosh! Hope you are ok after your fall. Some quiet crafting is just what's needed. Take care!
ReplyDeleteIt takes my mind off the discomfort and keeps me moving. I have the iron set up in the next room so I have to walk a bit.
DeleteOh, no, that sounds like a nasty tumble. I hope you're not too stiff.
ReplyDeletexx
It was nasty, and scary. I am quite stiff but keeping mobile in the hopes that it helps.
DeleteHope you're not feeling stiff and bruised after your fall. I find it's usually the day after that the effects are felt.
ReplyDeleteIt is much sorer today but not unbearable.
DeleteOh Pam, you're going to feel very sore in the next day or two :(
ReplyDeleteYou've been through the wars a bit lately, haven't you? I'm glad you're (relatively) ok and had some concerned people and animals to fuss over you x
It happens, and it never rains but it pours. Like you I will be glad when the tide turns.
DeleteHugs Pam I hope you are ok. Not the right way to start a day. Fabrics are pretty and I think the recipient will love it once finished. Now judt tale it steady and have loads more tea as well xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Iam just plodding along and keeping moving, with lots of tea. Maybe a little cake as well.
DeleteOh gosh, Pam. Take care and keep mindful watch for anything that might show up in a day or two. Let those that can give you some relief do so!
ReplyDeleteI am keeping a close eye on it but nothing has broken.
DeleteHope you are feeling better soon Pam, glad to hear the SO was home at the time. Looking forward to seeing the new quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt will pass, the less I think about it the less it hurts.
DeletePam, you are very lucky you didn't break anything. Glad you are okay!
ReplyDeleteYes, as I bounced down the thought of a break was at the front of my mind. I am fine, just a bit sore and stiff.
DeleteOuch. I hope you are still feeling okay. Take it easy as I have learned the hard way that bruises hurt more the day after.
ReplyDeleteLove those fabrics.
God bless.
It certainly does hurt more today but I keep moving, sitting is a bit uncomfortable right now.
DeleteJust read this, and seen your bruise - ouch (big time) Take care of yourself and enjoy your crafting. That quilt fabric looks lovely. X
