Knitting and nattering

I went off in glorious sunshine this afternoon to Llandeilo for a couple of hours in the new wool shop. There were 8 of us plus the owner and a member of staff, we also had a rep in with wool samples and free knitting patterns.
Lots of tea was drunk, quite a few biscuits were munched. There was knitting, crochet and cross stitch going on and a fair amount of chatting. All in all a good afternoon, I will be going back, perhaps not every week. In the winter I will take the longer route via Ammanford as I am certain that the mountain roads will be just a tad awful.

This morning I had the beds stripped and the linen washed and blowing in the garden by 9, it is all folded and either put away or awaiting a trip over the ironing board.

I am going outside to put some plants into the ground and pot on the aubergines and peppers, plus a couple of house plants, 50p from Tesco and just needed a little tlc.

Ben has had his walk and his dinner, done his silly 5 minutes round the carpet and thrown himself into his bed.

I will be drinking tea shortly and then off outside.

  1. What free patterns did you get? I'm glad you had a nice day! I feel a bit like Ben tonight - throwing myself into bed instead of the ironing sounds good!

    1. A cropped long sleeved cardigan with a v neck waistcoat version and a long line jumper for the winter. I have started the cardigan but am thinking of making the front as the waistcoat.

    1. It is Deb's wool shop and is on the high street not far from the Ice Cream shop, if you get to Llandeilo do make time to go in. They have amazing ice creams and the most luscious chocolate, and you can sit in an enjoy it. They do not serve drinks though.

    1. I thought that we were in for another storm last night, the air was so heavy you could almost feel it. There was a bit of a breeze but nothing else.

  6. How fortunate you are to still have small shops to gather in. I like the idea of gathering and knitting and snack while 'jawing' with each other. Those are days gone by in the USA. Say safe.

  7. There is an evening crochet group in the town but I will not be driving over the mountain at night. It would be fine now but once the weather turns and the nights draw in it would not be so clever. There is another way but it is far longer.

  8. I shall have to look out for the new wool shop - I know exactly where it is following your description. I hope it doesn't tread on the toes of the two ladies down by Peppercorn too much. They are lovely souls and always so helpful.

Sounds like you are keeping busy, busy, busy. Snap!

    1. I was off in search of the other shop but had no idea where it was. The shop is so bright and airy and Deb so friendly that I stayed chatting for a while on my first visit.
