A bit of a crafty catch up.

It has been a game of mix and match today. A freezing cold start with bright blue skies, that soon became warmer and greyer which in turn became rain.

The dogs were walked in the dry, fingers crossed that it will be dry for the next one.

Thank you all for your comments on the swimmers, it takes my breath away just thinking of plunging into cold water. I even like the bath to hover around the "How B***dy Hot" mark.

A few more pics of my crafting from January.

This jumper was knitted bottom up, in the round with a yoke. I used the basic outline from a magazine pattern and adapted it. I mostly wear skirts and dresses so like my jumpers cropped. I couldn't face rib with this thick and thin yarn so did garter stitch. It needs a light blocking but will never have crisp stitch definition.

This one, purple again, was knit top down in the round with raglan shaping. Again I used the basic outline from a pattern and changed it to my liking. The sleeves are a bit roomy so on the next version I will knit a size down. Again it needs blocking, my tension was a bit hit and miss, something to do with having a Herbie draped over my lap I think.

Place mats x 6, nice and bright and all from scraps.

One of the wall hangings, this one is almost finished. I just have to stitch the binding down.  The hanging loop is attached at the top and the folded edge also needs slip stitching down.

The next project was cast on yesterday, not planned, not even a glimmer of an idea for future knitting. I have to blame Cherie, North Yorkshire's Craft Guru. Well one of her readers really, TheAwakenedSoul who mentioned the Scatterby Sock pattern on Ravelry. A sock pattern? Free you say? I was hooked and reeled in.
before you could say psso or ssk I had the pattern printed off, the yarn pulled from stash and knitting commenced.

As an extra sweetener, I found that Purl Together had done a knit along of the pattern on her channel.

This colour is completely out, the yarn is named Sahara and it is a sandy colour. More like wet sand than the Sahara.

I think that we are all caught up now, I will share the wall hangings once finished and by then there will probably be another knitted something on the needles, then there are 2 quilts in my head.......
Thank goodness I am retired, I would never have the time to go to work.
Equally (if not more) thank goodness for the SO, he saw to the dogs yesterday and gave the kitchen a going over this morning.

By the way, thank you for your well wishes, I just needed some sleep. I started watching James Martin, as I said, and woke up almost 3 hours later with a crick in my neck and a Jug on my lap. I may have slept longer but Herbie does snore and when he reached pneumatic drill levels I woke up.

Dinner tonight is a simple roast chicken, a tray of roast veggies and some steamed cauliflower. Lovely.

    1. It is a free pattern on Ravelry and knits up quickly, only 4 rows and pattern on each so you keep the interest going.

    1. My gifted scrap bags had lots of large pieces of fabric as well as many Jelly Roll strips, I have only scratched the surface so far.

  5. You are so very clever with your knitting. I am in awe. I can't even follow a pattern never mind alter anything. What a talent.

I love your place mats and wall hanging.

    1. I like to have hot food on hot plates so mats are essential. I use cotton batting and it takes the heat well.
